Farmland
The character of Amherst is rooted in our colorful and abundant agricultural landscape. Amherst’s farmland grounds and balances the town’s otherwise largely academic pursuits.

Landscape
Freshly plowed fields bordered by lush green hillsides define our sense of place. The delicious local produce available at the Saturday farmer’s market on the common and our numerous roadside stands allows the community to literally partake of, and become part of our landscape. Amherst is profoundly grateful to our farmland and farmers for providing this sustenance and inspiration for our lives.
