Mission Statement: |
Community
Policing is an integral part of combating crime and improving the
quality of life in Amherst by creating an interactive approach to
problem solving and problem prevention based upon a partnership between
Amherst citizens and the Amherst Police. It is based upon the beliefs
that police officers and private citizens working together can help
solve community problems related to crime, and quality of life issues.
We will use a practical approach, and respect for the dignity of each
individual and the diversity of our community, to broaden communication
and collaboration between Amherst citizens, neighborhood organizations,
the Amherst Police Department, and other organizations, in serving and
strengthening our community. |
