AMHERST POLICE ONLINE INCIDENT REPORTING
Welcome to our Online Reporting System. If this is an Emergency, please call 911.  This system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a copy of the report for free. Please confirm the following to find out if online filing is right for you:
  • Is this an Emergency?

  • Did this incident occur outside of the Town of Amherst? Did this occur on the campuses of UMASS, Amherst College or Hampshire College?

  • Do you know the suspect?

  • Was either your home or vehicle broken into?

  • Were you physically assaulted?

  • There is evidence that could lead to the identification of a suspect?

If you answered NO to all of the above questions, you are ready to file your report on-line. Make sure to turn off your pop-up blocking software before filing the report. If you answered YES to any of the questions, you cannot use this system to file a report on-line.   Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page to determine your options.

Upon completion of our Online Reporting System process you will:

  • See "Your report has been submitted" showing that your report is complete.
  • Be given a temporary case number and emailed this temporary printable report
  • Once the report has been reviewed by our officers, an approved permanent report will be emailed to you.  Review will take between 24-48 hours.

Please note that all cases filed online will be reviewed. Upon review, you may be contacted if further investigation of your case is needed. If a report is rejected during our online review process, you will receive an email detailing the reason for the rejection.  Filing a false police report is a crime and will be prosecuted.
